Regional: Petaluma Man Arrested By San Rafael Police For Allegedly Threatening Bank Employees
Police in San Rafael arrested a Petaluma man Tuesday accused of making criminal threats and being in possession of illegal firearms.
Frear Schmid, 72, allegedly entered the Citibank on Third Street in downtown San Rafael on Aug. 18 and threatened staff. According to police, an “irate” Schmid threatened to shoot and kill the employees before leaving; the bank staff closed and locked its doors as a safety precaution after he left.
